We are a nonprofit organization supporting women and families affected by domestic violence, homelessness, and other life challenges in New York City and Atlanta. Our mission is to provide resources, advocacy, and a safe place for women to rebuild their lives.
We provide safe, judgment-free resources and support to help women escape abuse and rebuild their lives with dignity.
Our team connects women and families with shelter, stability, and long-term solutions to end homelessness.
We help survivors secure safe, affordable housing so they can create a stable foundation for the future.
We advocate for fair treatment, second chances, and resources to help women successfully re-enter society.
Compassionate care and connections to mental health resources ensure women receive the support they need to heal.
We guide mothers to help them build brighter futures for themselves & their children.
Domestic violence is often seen as something that happens behind closed doors, but in truth, its impact extends far beyond the home. It is a community issue that touches families, workplaces, schools, healthcare systems, and neighborhoods. When one person suffers, the entire community feels the ripple effects.
Domestic violence is not only a personal tragedy but also a significant public health issue. In addition to the immediate trauma caused by abuse—such as physical injuries, emotional harm, and psychological distress—domestic violence contributes to long-term health problems that affect survivors, their families, and the healthcare system as a whole.
Domestic violence is not only a personal crisis for survivors—it is a widespread social and economic issue that places a heavy burden on families, communities, and the nation as a whole. In 2022, The New York Times reported that intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crimes committed annually in the United States. These numbers reveal a staggering reality: domestic violence is not a rare or hidden problem—it is one of the most pervasive and destructive forms of violence in our society.
