I have often thought about every woman who has ever had to endure the pain of domestic violence and abuse. Domestic violence first became real to me in my own home, a reality I could not escape as a child. Growing up was incredibly difficult, filled with fear and confusion, as I watched my father repeatedly abuse my mother. At such a young age, I struggled to understand why this was happening. I couldn’t comprehend why someone who was supposed to love and protect us could instead inflict so much pain. The helplessness I felt was overwhelming, and there was no one there to intervene or shield us from the violence.
My earliest thoughts were confusing and heartbreaking. I remember asking myself, "Is this the way my daddy loved us?" That question, that painful recognition, was a harsh pill for a child to swallow. It was in that moment, amid fear and uncertainty, that a spark ignited within me—a deep desire to do something, to make a difference, to ensure that no other child or woman would feel as powerless as I did. I knew then that my purpose in life would be rooted in helping others, in reaching out to those who were suffering and providing support, comfort, and a path toward safety and healing.
It was my own experience, witnessing the pain of domestic abuse firsthand, that shaped my calling. The fear, the confusion, and the helplessness I endured became the foundation for empathy, strength, and determination to stand up for women who are trapped in abusive situations. I realized that silence and inaction only perpetuate the cycle of abuse, and I was determined not to allow that to happen to others. Through my journey, I have learned that understanding and compassion are powerful tools. By sharing my story and extending a hand to those in need, I can help women reclaim their lives, restore their confidence, and find the courage to break free from abuse.
Domestic violence is not just a statistic or a headline—it is a deeply personal and devastating reality for countless women and children. It is my mission to shine a light in the darkness, to provide hope where there seems to be none, and to stand as a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. My experiences have fueled a lifelong commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and healing. Every woman I help, every story I witness, reaffirms my belief that no one should have to endure abuse alone, and that with support, guidance, and courage, a new, safe, and fulfilling life is always possible.
